Getting Client 6.xx working

Post by mr bubbles »

Basically I'm having a lot of trouble getting client 6.0.12.3 or 6.0.13.0 working properly.

I have tried setting the FeatureEnable to 0x00, 0x20, 0x1a8 etc. The clients expansion is set to ML in the accounts file.

I used UO_Rice (and that other newer one to test if removing the encryption caused the problem) to remove the encryption then joined my server (POL098) with the client (not using any 3rd party proggies). It works fine, just have these problems.

* When creating a new character the client will freeze upon entering the world. (Nothing appears in server console about it) It is fine if u log into an existing char.
* opening the backpack shows an empty pack when there IS items inside.
* Trying to move something on the ground around, will drop it at ur feet. The server console will receive a message "Unexpected message type ff..."

Obviously im doing something wrong :P Anyone using these clients fine without any 3rd party progs like razor?

Cheers

Only the very latest (unreleased) 098 beta has implemented support for 6.0.1.7+. There were a few packet changes that can cause problems with 6.0.1.7+ including the problems you listed.

It will be coming soon we hope. We have a few people testing out small bugs for us, so the next release can possibly be a Release Candidate for 098. If you want to see all the most recent changes, you can go to the Documentation site for 098 and see a semi-live changelog from our development cvs:
