Region Editing

Post by Ordos »

I've been region editing but have found that if, for instance, I establish a region with these coordinates:
1793 1021 1824 1064

They end up covering a region more like:
1795 1052 1855 1087

I've even discovered that the regions defining where towns like Trinsic or Cove start and end are skewed, but each time by an unrelated amount.

Is there a problem with my map or tiledata files?

or is region editing always this imprecise?

is there a region manger program which might help?

Thanks,

Ordos

Depends on your core version
<pol98 regions are internally stored as a 32x32 grid
>=pol98 4x4 grid

Oh wow, that's kinda strange.

I'm using pol095, so I suppose when I define regions, the end result will atleast be no more than 32 tiles away from where I've actually defined it. Is that correct?

Thanks for the info!

the coordinates you define have to be dividable by 32

or to be 100% correct:
old core: coords get bitshifted by 5
new core: bitshifted by 2
