Line of Sight problems with 097 rc2

My shard is now live with 097 and the good news is that it works well with a few little pleasant surprises (serendipity?).
However there is one important issue to report that is causing me a lot of grief. Fix this soon and my life would be ever so much simpler. I'd even guarantee some beer if required.
Character height. This was changed 2 core releases ago. It now causes a few problems:
* all the listxxnearlocationxx functions now do not return items below approx the player's standing height. ie the Z capture range is higher off the ground because the player height is more. I have to tell it to ignore Z for looting to work! This isn't good as my terrain is uneven.
* there is now less headroom. This messes up some badly made houses where there is not at least 20 z between floor and ceiling. It worked fine on older cores. Fixes will involve releasing new house statics - ouch.
* ladders don't work again. Darn it, this was a real improvement over 095 before it broke again!
This effects 096.5 as well I believe.
Is there any chance of an emergency release for this?
