Update Paperdoll in a script

So what I actually should want to know:

is it possible to close and resend peprdoll somehow in a script without using packethooks ? or just to update it so it gets all the new information ?

What I need this for is to update the paperdoll for example when change all the character.title_suffix and such, so the name should update there correctly.

I know of the function OpenPaperdoll( to_Whom, from_whom ); but that function only opens a paperdoll when there isnt a paperdoll open.

I don't believe there is a way. If there is, I don't know about it, and no one I've talked to has claimed to know about it. Of course, this is one of those times I'd love to be wrong. :) Anyone?

I concur. I know of no way to refresh the paperdoll titles.

For what it's worth I don't know of a way either but, like Luth, I hope I am wrong.

thank you for the answers, but what I started to think about, if I force equip an item on a character which will make the paperdoll to update, probably the title should update aswell, I need to make some tries, with different ways to actually update the paperdoll itself and hope it will help with the title aswell.

You can get the paperdoll character to update with new clothes, but it doesn't do the title area.
I've played with equipping invisible hats for a moment to see if it helped, but no.

Thx for all the answers, I've decided to stop using those title_suffix and such and just put the extra tag directly in the name, because that seems to be working anyway. That just needs a couple of more checks in scripts.

That's not a bad idea either.
Now I am weaned off the v2 client, I can have tooltips to give any sort of title I like. Much smarter and more flexible.

bringing old topic alive again but with good news this time :)

Updating paperdoll in a script is possible, just noticed the 0xBF packet Sub 0x16 which is used to close paperdoll, status, charprofile or a container gump.

Here is a working example of how it is possible to update the paperdoll in a script.

Code: Select all

var packet := CreatePacket( 0xBF, -1 );
packet.SetInt8( 1, 13 );
packet.SetInt16( 3, 0x16 );
packet.SetInt32( 5, 0x01 );
packet.SetInt32( character.serial );
packet.SendPacket( character );

OpenPaperdoll( character, character );
