Ecompile

Anyone else have the problem of ecompile not compiling just a single script if you give it a directory? Is there a way to correct this?

One more question, anyone know if right-click ecompile still exists?

Right click ecompile will always exist as long as you have the batch file and registry entry set up to do it.

Ecompiling a directory I haven't done in a long time most likely because of the problem you have, I just remember that it didn't work well enough.

ECompile.reg

Code: Select all

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\Ecompile]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\Ecompile\command]
@="e:\\projects\\pol server 097\\scripts\\ecompile -A -r %1 -u"
Edit to fit your needs, install the key, and you should be good to go.

Thank you Luth, that doesn't seem to work after I entered it into the registry though.

My problem with ecompile is that I have to compile all src scripts to compile any, if I try to compile a single script by providing the location my ecompile summary comes back blank and no ecl or dep files are created.

Its weird, any ideas?

1) You'll need to configure that registry key to match your system. You'll want to fix the path to be the real path of your ecompile, and you'll probably want to change the compilation flags as well.

2) Some flags that you define in your ecompile config will render compile-a-single-script impossible, I believe. If you check your options and compilation flags, you'll probably be able to figure it out. (I'd send you mine, but its currently set up to compile all scripts always.)

I got it to work. What I needed to do was change ecompile.cfg to refelect the full path to my script files etc.

Thanks for all the help guys!
