• POL not getting up

Hi,

so I'm trying to get POL up in offline mode (just for decorating world and testing out things in UO). Looks like its really difficult due to not having proper install information (I can do that, if I ever manage to set this thing up and running).

I'm running POL-099 with Mondain's Legacy, followed up everything step by step and even tried searching this forum to get some help and configured some files (such as libmysql.dll, boats.cfg etc.).

Now I'm receiving this error:

So I should somewhere get those .ecl files and fix that vitals.cfg. How to do that?

I'd love to get personal shard up.

I'm also afraid of getting new errors after that fix, so I might post them here too.

Looks like compiling the pkg/systems/attributes/config directory (where vitals.cfg is included) fixed this problem, but this went into another Configuration file error..

Warning: No tiles loaded. Please check tiles.cfg
Couldn't find an Armor Zone in armzone.cfg for layer 0
Error in ObjType 0x13cd. Package armor.
Server Shutdown: load_itemdesc
Execution aborted due to: Configuration file error

i would like you to stop use POL because you don't have a searching skill not a install information. you should have this skill first.

It looks like you haven't configured a few things properly.

Make sure you are using the starthere.bat file and are creating the CFG files in the "realmgen" menu. Also make sure you have created the first map atleast in the same menu. Next, make sure you have compiled all scripts. I usually open a command prompt in the \pol\scripts of my POL installation and enter the following command: ecompile C:\POL\ -a -A -r -f

Make sure you have configured servers.cfg and serverspecopt.cfg in \pol\config correctly.

If your POL directory is something different then replace "POL" in the above examples with the name of your POL directory.

Once you have done those things you should be able to start POL.

Was just searching in the forums about the problem with armrzone.cfg. Got the same problem and can't figure out a way to bypass it, because of that I can't also run a POL99 server.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

Hey there! I'm new to POL and I am just trying to set up my new server with the latest version of POL99.

You have to find this item at objects.txt -> there will be name and name of the item package, where are it from (if there's no package name at third position, you will find item at config/itemdesc.cfg). After, find those package, and there will be itemdesc.cfg file.
Find that item in it and copy here all of it properies, that started from Armor 0x13cd or Weapon 0x13cd.
I had this problem and solved it fortunately, but don't remember how, so, give us more information please.

To solve this issue you need to add the Coverage property in the Armor info zone to the pkg/items/arrmor/config/itemdesc.cfg.

You have to always add the Coverage or otherwise it will consider it as a malformed Armor item.
