question regarding npc speech...

In order for the Pol clients to be able to use the vendors in-game we were required to have them delete the speech.mul file on their pc's. Well one of the things we would like to have working, if possible, is to "speak" with the pc's using the speechgroup.cfg file. I have not been able to get this to work with any npc's thus far. Does anyone have a fix for this that I would be able to implement without too much difficulty? In particular I would like to make use of the npc-type "crier" for news dispatches in game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Ok. First off I apologize for digging up this grave. Please have mercy on me.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to get speechgroup.cfg to work for NPCs? How is it done?
Thanks,

Me too. I have looked a bit at the AI for workers and it is supposed to use speechgroup but doesn't seem to work. I, and I believe Datus as well, am/are using the basic POL 0.95 scripts converted to POL 0.96. The AI scripts are from the 0.95 Distro.
